New Start, New Course
(17 August - 2 October 2015)
NIACE Cymru will develop an all-Wales promotional campaign to take place during August and September 2015 to coincide with the most important period of the learning calendar, when colleges, adult education centres and other organisations, which offer training and learning courses, start to enrol for the new term.
To attract new learners, and to help everyone choose from the variety of courses available, learning providers all over Wales will organise free open days and enrolment events.
This NIACE Cymru campaign will be designed to support providers to promote these events in one place, as a one-stop shop, which will in turn offer huge benefit to the adult learner who can view all free open days and enrolment events by visiting the one website.

New Year New You 2016
(4 January - 25 February 2016)
NIACE Cymru will develop an all-Wales skills campaign to take place during January and February 2016. New Year is traditionally a period when people resolve to improve certain aspects of their life, such as adopting a healthier lifestyle. It is also the period when many people consider their careers and vow to do something to improve their future prospects.
NIACE Cymru will work with providers, the 22 Learning Festival groups, colleges and other partners, including the Welsh Government, to help organise, support and promote a series of free learning events and open days across Wales.
This campaign will create a strong, unified marketing message that can be adopted right across the board, from advertising and PR, right down to street level at events and open days.
The campaign messages will centre on:
- Offering useful career tips to assist job seekers.
- Finding suitable funding to help pay for your learning
- Choosing a course
- Seeking careers advice
- Events and bite-sized learning opportunities

Adult Learners' Week (13-19 June 2015)
Adult Learners Week (13th to 19th June 2015) is an annual campaign which celebrates and promotes adult learning opportunities. Now in over 55 countries worldwide, its intention in Wales is to signpost the huge variety of courses available to the adult learner, and to prompt adults across the country into returning to learning.
Each year, over 20,000 adults in Wales participate in Adult Learners’ Week activities. This is achieved by working with a host of private and public organisations on the promotion of free taster events, local outreach activities and short courses.
The campaign kicks off with the Inspire! Awards Ceremony (Thursday 11th June 2015) at the SWALEC Stadium, Cardiff, celebrating the wide variety of achievements of learners and the inspirational work of tutors in Wales; Outstanding projects, employers and a Communities First learner will also be awarded.
Split into three distinct ‘Theme Days’ Adult Learners’ Week focuses on different aspects of the learning experience. These days are: Learning at Work Day (Thursday 18th June 2015), Digital Day (Friday 19th June 2015) and Family Learning Weekend (Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June 2015). The activities and free learning events are organised by 22 Learning Festival Groups (covering all counties of Wales), which in turn are coordinated by the Campaigns team at NIACE Cymru. These groups receive a small amount of funding and receive backing through our media promotion (radio advertisements, social media, specialist websites, press advertisements and articles).
